I had to get up early, at 8:30, to eat and stretch before my 5k. The race was virtual this year, so everyone was supposed run separately and record their times online. All 30 of us ran as a group. I shuffled my playlist and hit the gas. I finished in second place out of all of us with a time of 31 minutes. Jackson beat me by like 2 minutes, but he’s a D2 college athlete. Everyone jumped in the pool to cool off afterwards, which was a blessing. Lunch was leftover pulled pork from the night before. Rich made a lot. After lunch, we decided to go to the beach. The waves were out of control preceding Henri. I also went four for five in spikeball games! I took a hot shower when we got back, and soon enough, dinner was served. Rich is pretty fucking rich, so the meal was catered. Every person got a massive bucket with chicken or lobster, surrounded by cobbed corn, sausage, potatoes, and clams. It was very over the top. There was also a raw bar. After dinner I participated in a game of non-alcoholic civil war (at least for me, David was very drunk). The kids did that for like 3 hours. When I came in, the adults were watching Ted Lasso. I watched three episodes, and let me tell you, it’s not funny. However, everyone over the age of 35 disagrees. Fish out of water comedy is cheap and lame, especially when it just pokes fun at American stereotypes for two seasons. By then it was 1, so I went to my bed (the couch in the TV room) and talked to Luisa forever. It got a little dicey near the end, my apologies. I recorded 11,788 steps, which fortunately was not enough to beat a suffering Luisa. The day was pretty great, an 8.5 even. Eat fresh.
